Composed by Sergei Prokofiev. Arranged by Lin Y. E. 20th Century. Individual Part,Score,Set of Parts. 25 pages. Published by Lin Yizhi Ernest (S0.211471).

Dance of the Knights is from Act 1, Scene 2 of Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet.

An electrifying and contrasting Wind Quintet arrangement, the quintet will do well with an assertive and menacing character in the first section of the music. The Clarinet, Horn and Bassoon all have very prominent roles to play. Be sure to push the limits of your instruments' range and tone colours to portray the sounds of a large orchestra for which the piece was originally written.

The next section is a quiet section led by the Flute, while the accompaniment is kept light with staccato passages mimicking pizzicato strings. The original Oboe solo is kept in its entirety and a chance for it to shine.

Much effort is made in this arrangement for Wind Quintet to retain the original ideas and intent of the music, while giving opportunities and challenge for each instrument to shine through.
