Serendipity Suite

Orchestra - Grade 3
Composed by Richard Meyer. String Orchestra. String Orchestra. Form: Suite. Conductor Score & Parts. 360 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.5625).

Item Number: AP.5625

Great for fostering pride in one's section and dynamite for a recruiting concert, each movement of this suite is designed to highlight different instruments of the string orchestra with style and flavor, emphasizing the unique qualities of each. With titles such as Fit as a Fiddle, Sol-La Viola, Cello Pudding, and Oasis for Basses, this piece answers an important and greatly overlooked motivational need in today's student music.

I like cello pudding so much I can't get the melodi out of my head.In oasis for basses there is a part that sounds like the theme in lawrence of arabia. I've already played the suite and it sounded awesome on our concert.

This is an awesome collection of pieces! We are playing Oasis for Basses and Fit as a Fiddle, even though they may be short they are great to play and fun to listen to! I wish that there were more pieces like this! I love the Serendipity Suite collection!

My strings teacher gave us this piece for our first concert of the year. I'm a freshman, and this is isn't an impossible piece, but we have to work on it. My favorite part was, of course, Cello Pudding (the celli wanted it to be cello jello), I...

like the snazzy sound to it. Our audience will too.
