Fun book of songs from a great movie, arranged for mandolin. Nothing too challenging; many of the songs, like I'll Fly Away, are great practice for double stops.

Advanced - tough going for a beginner, but part's of most songs are ok, and can be learned in short order. Very well put together.

  • October 05, 2007 This is my SECOND copy of this book

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my second copy of "Selections from O Brother, Where Art Thou?" from Sheet Music Plus. My first one disappeared from my luggage while I was on an airline flight last week. Must be some musically inclined TSA agents. . . . Anyhow, I'm just now...

six months into learning to read music and play the mandolin, and this book is very helpful. The songs are fun to perform. I started with "The Big Rock Candy Mountain," which I'm already performing at the beginning of my street-magic act, and I'm determined to learn all the rest of the songs in this collection. The tabliture notations are a big help for reading multiple notes, and the songs themselves are excellent learning tools.

  • May 16, 2007 keeping me busy still...

This sheet music is great because it includes the words, melody line and chords. I play a number of instruments, and this score makes it easy to adapt the music to other instruments. I'm only a beginner, so Im not really sure about the degree of difficulty, but this...

will keep me busy! I love the songs, and I have been trying to learn them by ear for so long... its so great to finally know the last couple of bars of the 'Indian War Whoop'! It also has some handy tips in the back! I don't understand why it was that much cheaper that the guitar/piano scores?
