An arrangement thet does justice to the musical. A firm favourite with the band and audiences.

  • October 09, 2008 Too much fun!

From the viewpoint of a community band musician who has played this with two different bands: This piece is a blast to play. Conductors tend to wind up doing little dance moves on the platform while they conduct. Anyone who doesn't tap their toes to this has no soul...

. Specific highlights: Lowest woodwinds get to join low brass in playing the rock-n-roll bass lines. Alto sax has a beautiful solo. You will need AT LEAST five competent percussion players - more is better, but any fewer and important things will get left out.
