Overall a very nice selection of songs out of the standard Schumann volumes 1 and 2 you will be using as a singing student. The text is actual poetry and kept in the original german language just as it should be. The key's are comfortable for mezzo soprano with...

challenges for alto depending on your level. Ony draw back is the CD of reduced quality both in material and in particular with regard to the electronical piano sound. The tempo chosen by the pianist is rather accelerated in some instances. It would be highly desirable that the CD would be re-recorded according to today's technical standards as well as applying a slightly lower tempo so it can be used for real practising by singers of different grades of levels. Thus it would be a valuable tool to singers to develop their voice skills and enhance their repertoir at the same time.
