  • April 03, 2009 engaging finger exercises

My teacher asked me to get this book. He promises that diligent study will reward me with additional finger strength and dexterity. Seems to be working. The exercises are more mentally engaging than Hanon, which is good. They're not pretty tunes, but I guess they're not meant to...

    be.

Czerny had opus' into the 600's. The dude was a machine. Just remember to use good technique and never play a note without a musical intention and these exercises will improve your playing and sight reading. Czerny was a pupil of Beethoven and an instructor of Liszt, so you...

    will be in good hands.

  • May 03, 2006 Well worth the effort!

These are definitely good etudes for increasing finger dexterity and control. Even more beneficial supplemented with Hanon!
