Beautiful, legible engraving on weighty, cream-colored paper. Pages open and will stay flat. Lots of extra details about origin of the urtext. Fast shipment.

the quality of the binding and paper is very good, but for Chopin scherzi, I would recommend Wiener or Padrewski editions.

Although this is an authoritive urtext edition, it is not a reliable edition as a musician. I have the Paderewski edition and the national edition of the scherzos as well, and from my own comparison this edition is so different. So I would not recommend this edition to those taking...

    music seriously

  • August 06, 2008 Best Edition for Chopin's Scherzi

Urtext makes the best editions of any composer's work in my opinion, and this is probably the reason why they sell their editions so expensive. Their fingerings are always right on and the quality of the paper and print are worth the money. The aesthetic quality of the book...

    is enough for me.

This is a really beautiful piece... and as a serious musician Urtext is always the safest, most reliably accurate edition.
