Published by Masquerade Music (A0.761477).Written as a commission for the Nottingham (UK) based Saxophone Quartet Persiflage, the piece explores a deceptively sedate (almost chorale-like) opening theme before launching into the funky groove introduced by the Baritone sax. You will also hear a short play off between the soprano and alto (duelling saxes?!) and a haunting waltz. With occasional inclusions of 3,3,2 metre bars, the quartet gives just the right balance of being playable whilst also providing a little challenge to keep players on their toes. An original composition of around 4 minutes duration by Keri Degg.
