Sahara Crossing

Sahara Crossing composed by Richard Meyer. Orchestra. SmartMusic; String Orchestra. Strictly Strings Series. Grade 1. Conductor Score & Parts. 74 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.19557).

Take your students on a desert caravan in this fun and exciting piece written to introduce low first-finger notes (E-flat and B-flat). All students-even your more advanced players-will love the Far Eastern harmonic minor sound, complete with bouncing cello/bass accompaniment and parts for tambourine and finger cymbals. Very mature sounding, yet simple. A great teaching piece! This title is available in SmartMusic.
List/syllabus: TX UIL PML: Orch, Strings, Guitar.

  • June 20, 2007 Fantastic!

I've been playing for nine years, I'm now in 10th grade. I played this song as a solo at District 9 String Fest my fourth year playing. I have this song memorized by heart and am playing it again next school year as a solo again for my...

school. All people who want to learn to play any instrument, definately should learn this song also. Love it! I play the violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, bass guitar and the piano. All except for violin I've only been playing for six years. This song sounds great when an orchestra is playing it.
