For me the octave reaches in both hands makes this Lanz book a bit more tedious to play, a bit more hypnotic to listen to...less melodic than some of his other books. But, definately worth having in your Lanz collection.

David Lanz has once again given intermediate pianists a gift with this collection. Personal opinion: I enjoy "The David Lanz Collection" and "Finding Paradise" much more than this book, amazing as it may be. Lanz beginners should definitely try one of these alternatives on for size before moving on to...

this book. It is different stylistically and in level of difficulty than his other works. For a long-time lover of Lanz' music, however, this is a must-have. Most reviews I have read have heralded "Whiter Shade of Pale" or "Nights in White Satin" as the best pieces in this book, but I personally find joy in the beautiful simplicity of "Before the Last Leaf Falls" and the understated-but-haunting "Nocturne." All in all, a great book.

I love this collection of David Lanz's piano arrangements and would recommend it for the early advanced pianist. My favorite piece in this book is "Nights in White Satin" from 1967's British rock group, the Moody Blues. Since I was a teen when this song was popular, playing...

this hypnotic tune evokes memories of the bygone era of peace, love, and rock 'n' roll. A great addition to your David Lanz collection!
