This orchestrated song cycle composed by Gustav Mahler consists of five settings of texts by the German poet Friedrich Ruckert, and is recognized as a masterpiece.  Serge Ollive has reorchestrated this work to make it more accessible to chamber orchestras.  While orchestrated for a smaller number of performers, this setting keeps the power and beauty of Mahler's original work.
