Transkription von orchestral musicwerken fur Orgel sind heutzutage sehr beliebt. Da wir quasi keine Originalkompositionen fur Orgel von W. A. Mozart besitzen, es aber erwiesen ist, dass Mozart eine intensive Beziehung zur Orgel hatte, scheint es mir durchaus legitim, das eine oder andere pianowerk fur die Realisation auf der Orgel einzurichten. Das Rondo in D fur piano und orchestral music scheint mir dazu sehr geeignet, da der originale Satz grosse Transparenz und Klarheit in der Instrumentation aufweist. Ich hoffe, dass viele Organist(inn)en mit Freude diese wunderbare, beschwingte Musik auf der Orgel spielen werden. She is sparing with her suggestions for registration, but they naturally make much sense, and are clearly set down with total dedication to the original composer and the kind of sounds he might have had in mind had the notion of such a transcription as this entered his head. It makes a truly delightful and surprisingly successful piece of music, the character light and airy - and it makes a welcome change of character from the rather pietistic nature of Mozart's organ sonatas.
