Gabriel Faure wrote absolutely beautiful music, and the Romances Op17 are some of his most popular pieces. Originally written for piano solo, this romance is the 3rd of the 3 romances, and it is wonderful as a solo instrument with piano accompaniment.

Faure's romances were often compared to Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words, as it has Mendelssohn's flowing style. This piece should be played with a lot of rubato and feeling, but it should not be too slow. Both parts are technically simple enough for musicians with intermediate skills, but requires a higher level of emotion for it to speak well.
