Robben Ford - The Art of Blues Rhythm by Robben Ford. For Guitar. Instructional/Guitar/DVD. DVD. Published by Guitar Axis (HL.320708).

ISBN 1423435486. 5.25x7.5 inches.

As one of the most emulated blues players of our time, Robben Ford's impeccable soloing techniques, phrasing and tone have been the subject of several books and videos, but for the first time, Robben brings his smooth and tasty rhythm playing to the forefront in this DVD. He explains and demonstrates dozens of blues rhythm concepts and techniques from 12-bar shuffle blues rhythms to mixing in jazz chords to blues comping. Robben also takes you through several of his tunes showing his chord voicings, rhythms, and right-hand picking/finger techniques. Robben also answers questions about double-stops, his guitars, recording, and road gear. Also includes a 39-page printable PDF with examples and transcriptions. Robben has been offering masterclass clinics for several years to a very select and limited number of students. We're happy to present this DVD to allow guitarists everywhere to be a part of this unique experience. 86 minutes.

  • February 10, 2009 great way to learn new chords

I thought this was a great video and I have learned a great deal. I think it has held my interest longer than any instruction video. Robben has a very easy way about his approach and I never felt as if he was talking down to me. My only complaint...

and the reason it didnt get a perfect 5 stars is there needed to be two to five minutes of jam track per section so you could apply what you just learned.

  • February 29, 2008 It's Robben Ford What More Do You Need To Know!

Rhythm Is Where Robben really shines, and if you have ever been to one of his clinics you could understand that rhythm is music's foundation. If you can not make the trip to Ojai, this DVD is the next very best thing. I would say this DVD contains about...

95% of his clinic's information on playing rhythm. A definite must for every Robben Ford fan.
