This is wonderful music, satisfying to play. After the piano concertos, the Rhapsody is one of Rachmaninov's best and most popular compositions. Up to the famous 18th variation, Rachmaninov's two-piano version is surprisingly 'easy'. After that the going gets tough, and Cecily Lambert's easier and abbreviated...

version is more manageable for the less advanced.

The music is well known and since the 2-piano arrangement was made by the composer, it works well of course.

this music is perfect for a concert piano duet. an inter mediate/advanced could play this but it would take some work.

the absolute Rachmaninoff essence. no cliche accords, no nonsense cadences, simply pure music. i prefer it 200% to 2nd Piano concerto.
