  • June 12, 2011 Why is the font size so small?

The manuscript is fabulous. The archeological dig to find the missing music is a gift to the world. So why, why, did somebody decide to reduce the font size of the notes to be far smaller than typical published works, and certainly much smaller than the "standard" publication of the...

traditional score? This font size is so small that in some chords, it is challenging to see the association of an accidental sharp/flat to its intended note. My eye dr. shook his head in disgust when I showed him the music for which I needed glasses, to see at a focal distance of 15". Please issue a 2nd edition with a larger font size for the music. I can't wait to purchase it.

  • April 23, 2009 Rhapsody

I am not a musician so am not qualified to review this work. I bought it for my son who is doing a solo piano performance of Rhapsody for his Music Extension performance exam later this year. He is also writing a major research paper on Rhapsody for the same...

subject. He found this annotated score very useful on both counts. He absolutely loves Rhapsody.

  • February 18, 2007 This book is great!

I you like Gershwin and his Rhapsody in Blue, and if you wanna play this piece, stop thinking and buy this book! It's probably the best 25$ I've ever spent. The arrangement is not easy, but not impossible to play. I've been playing for 5 years now...

and I got to say I don't play it properly (yet). I recommend it to all music lovers!

  • September 08, 2004 A MILE STONE IN THE PIANO EDITING

Alicia Zizzo gives to all the pianists a totally new version of gershwin's masterwork. The piece become much more "jazzy" and much more similar to Gershwin'n own interpretations. A little spot: at the beginning of the famous slow time in the bass reads C; it must be E...

  • February 03, 2001 Annotated Rhapsody is Essential Reading

This Rhapsody in Blue is a vast improvement over the "official" solo version. Some missing passages that may be heard on Gershwin's piano roll have been restored. Some extremely difficult Lisztian passagework toward the end in the older published version have been restored to Gershwin's more reasonable idiomatic...

style. This edition is a must-have for those interested in the history of this work.
