Rapsodia Borealis is composed in a circular structure centered around a truly lyrical Cantabile theme - a song of the North for trombone. The trombone part, despite being complex, is in many places extremely melodic and even at one stage takes the lead in a tuneful hymn tune. It also touches on a semidissonant kaleidoscopic carousel and minimalism in the accompaniment. This challenging new work is a welcome addition to the modern repertoire for trombone. It is also available for trombone and concert band.

Die Rapsodia Borealis - zu Deutsch: Rhapsodie des Nordens - ist ein virtuoses Werk mit einer kreisformigen Struktur, die sich um ein lyrisches, kantables Thema rankt, einem Lied des Nordens fur Posaune. Technisch wohl anspruchsvoll, ging es dem danischen Komponisten jedoch mehr um den Ausdruck - darum, die zarte, lyrische Seite der modernen Konzertposaune hervorzuheben. Rapsodia Borealis ist ebenfalls fur Posaune und Blasorchester erhaltlich.

Un brano virtuoso con una struttura a forma di cerchio che gira attorno ad un tema lirico e cantabile, una canzone del nord per trombone. Esigente sotto l'aspettto tecnico, nel comporre questo brano Soren Hyldgaard desiderava evidenziare il lato lirico del trombone. Rapsodia Borealis e disponibile anche per trombone e banda.
