This arrangement is formatted as a C Instrument (flute, violin) duet with piano accompaniment. The tune is the traditional American melody PLEADING SAVIOR. Though this song is known by many titles, this title, "Rainbow of His Love," corresponds to the lyrics about the rainbow by Flora Kirkland (lyrics sheet included for reference).
 
The Violin/Flute 1 carries the melody for the first verse while Violin/Flute 2 adds harmony. For the second time through the song (after a short piano interlude), the Violin/Flute 2 carries the melody while Violin/Flute 1 alternates between a descant and harmony. This is a fairly easy and straight-forward arrangement for both instruments and accompanist.
 
Set in the key of C major, the Violin/Flute 1 range is from F above middle C to the second A above (F4-A5) and the Violin/Flute 2 range is from E above middle C to the second A above (E4-A5). For the violin, all notes for both parts can be played in first position making this an excellent selection for beginning string players. Duration 3:00.
