I like this book because it starts out with tunes fingered in 3rd position that my students know: Song of the Wind, May Song, but the names of the songs are different so they don't know they know it until they play it. The book focuses on one string...

at a time and one finger pattern at a time starting all in 3rd position and then introducing shifting. There are also some 8ve duets to help with intonation. The book begins with very simple songs and progresses to intermediate exercises. The print is fairly large, and the lines are well spaced for easy reading.
