  • December 17, 2011 Fauré piano quartet

This edition is much cheaper than the French one (Leduc), but it contains quite a number of misprints (false notes), and the fingering, instead of being of any help, is rather confusing.

  • May 14, 2011 Needs much better binding

Unfortunately, International makes piano scores that are not made to last. The piano part has no cover, so the first and last page of printed music serve as cover - the pages are held together by two staples and it's just a matter of time before the outer page rips...

away. (The yellow cover you see is like a manila folder.) This score also has one or two obvious minimal errors in printing, but that's not a big problem. So if there is another choice other than International, go for it.

This perfect piano quartet has everything the romantically inclined could wish for. Lovely melodic lines for all the instruments, beautiful and highly original harmonic progressions, as well as masterly integrity of form. One of the most gratifying pieces in the entire performing literature, both for the players and the listener...

This is one of the best piano quartets in the repertoire - easily accessible to the listener and a joy to perform.

  • June 12, 2007 One of the most beautiful chamber music works ever

This was one of two compositions that inspired me as a young teenager to pursue a career in music. It is simply gorgeous.
