Organ - Advanced
Arranged by Jerry Westenkuehler. Organ Solo. H. W. Gray Saint Cecilia Series. Form: Prelude. Sheet. 8 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.GSTCM0101).

Item Number: AP.GSTCM0101

What an exciting solo! This powerful setting will capture the attention of every organist and everyone who hears it. This setting works very well as a service prelude, but will also be a perfect addition to any recital program. It calls for a solo trumpet stop for the opening fanfare and melody, and there is a beautiful soft center section with strings and a 4' flute stop. A definite must!

I purchased this piece to use for Easter and really enjoyed it with two small exceptions. I found the transition between the softer section and the concluding section to be a bit harsh but perhaps with a better registration this could be resolved. Also, the passage containing the sextuplets interspersed...

with the sixteenth not chords was a bit out of place in my eyes so I decided to play the chords also as sedtuplets for continuity of style (think Widor's 5th). Overall, great piece, fun to play and wonderful feedback from the congregation!

I was pleased with this arrangement~~It's not so hard to play but still a challange even for organists with experience.

I played this piece for Easter Sunday. I got nothing but wonderful comments. It's easier to play than it looks. Would recommend it to anyone for prelude.

Awesome piece! I used this for 3 occassions in church and everyone loved it! No one gets tired of hearing it, it seems. Piece opens with a big fanfare, moves into a smooth middle section and finishes off with the melody in the pedal while 16ths are played in a...

contrary motion in the manuals. It's alot of fun to play and useful for many situations. I have a 3/80 Allen, so I had no problem registering the piece. I probably wouldn't use this if you don't have a Tuba Mirabalis or some sort of loud, nasty reed stop on your organ. It needs a "power reed" to be effective. Thanks for reading!
