  • September 09, 2007 A very workable edition

Clearly printed, good contrast and suggested fingering make this a good choice. I personally would like it spread out a bit more, making it easier to read but so far, this is fhe best edition I've found.

Rachmaninoff has always been my favorite composer. This piece may be my favorite.

I've been playing piano for about 4 years, so I don't know that much, but I found this piece much easier than I thought it would be. Rachmaninoff is a great composer, along with Grieg, and this prelude is one of my favorites, other than his concertos which...

are extremely difficult. I'll be this piece in the ISSMA competition. (There is really hard swction where the left hand is constantly doing runs, but the right hand is simple at this part.)

  • March 27, 2007 Great edition of a great piece

This is my favorite of the Rachmaninoff Preludes. It's exciting and passionate throughout, and Schirmer's edition really does it justice. I played this as part of my grad school audition, and the judges loved it. I give this my highest possible recommendation.
