Great backing. Wonderful comments of appreciation when I played at church with this backing.

  • 2009-09-30 00:00:00.0 Awful! I hate this book!

Bland, insipid and uninspiring arrangements to bore even beginners, with very irritating backing track. This book brings cheesieness up to new heights of cheesy. It's not all the source songs' fault as this could have been good if someone who loved the sax (or even good music) had bothered...

when compiling it, and/or the publisher had not done this on the cheap with a one arrangement and one disc fits all intruments mentality. (Saves them money in the short-term but does not save our ears, and they lose out in the long term as I will not buy any more from them as I cannot emphasise how awful this book is.) The book and the backing is obviously not written for sax, hence the rubbish arrangements and backing - there's a ncheesy glockenspiel (?) playing each bland over simplified melody line arrangement. Urgh! Someone like Ned Flanders might like it but I certainly don't.
