This book does a great job of describing the evolution of the blues idiom in America from a historical and musical perspective. The examples are excellent and provide a wonderful framework for creating one's own musical expression from the basic patterns. This is the best book I have found...

for combining single note patterns with chordal movement to create a big blues sound from a single instrument. A good understanding of blues chords and scales is helpful. Highly recommended.

This book and CD is a great introduction to playing rhythm and lead in a trio. As with all Dave Rubin books this one is also free of impossible fingerings. Learn it fast, use it tonight. This book along with "ART OF THE SHUFFLE" and "12 BAR BLUES" are among...

the most "dog eared" in my collection which includes hundreds of books and cd's
