Some mistakes are expected. But I have never seen as many as in this book. The second song, 'Lil' Jack Horney' isn't even transcribed in the proper tuning! The intro is shown using tapped harmonics when they should be natural harmonics. If they had used the right tuning...it...

might have been easier. I found myself having to re-tab the whole song in PowerTabs just to make sense of it. If seen a couple other complaints about mistakes in this book as well. That said, it has served me well to clarify the things I haven't been able to pick up by ear. Would have been nice to see a second edition after 25 years.

  • May 01, 2006 Good but, inaccurate

Most of the transcrition is correct, but in some places e.g. the "Get The Funk Out" solo, it is obviously wrong because it is near impossible to do two consecutive 32nd note taps at 108 bpm, it also moves all over the place on the fretboard from 1-22...

, and from seeing Nuno play it, this is not how it is done, he plays it all from about the 11th fret upwards. (...) Otherwise it's not a bad book/effort.

  • September 10, 2005 More than words you can play...

I totally agree with the other reviews. I mastered a song "More than words" and played at my friend's wedding with back up vocal duo..it was a blast! If you practice, it's not as difficult compared to other songs...very difficult. Also a good practice for playing...

without a pick. Also, check out "Love Song" from tesla if you like this type of playing...classical method.

  • September 08, 2003 With patience, you can play these songs!

Majority of these songs are very high level and difficult to learn. But More Than Words are very easy to understand and you will be able to learn the entire songs (ending with tapping, harmonics, etc. ) Good practice if you haven't mastered to play with your fingers, besides using...

    pick.
