I have a number of the Popular Performer books and have always been happy with the difficulty and sophistication of the arrangements. This book, unfortunately, doesn't meet those same levels.

[...]. Overall, Matt Hyzer's arrangements of these songs in this book lack the sophistication and musical dynamics that would give them the professional and interesting performance quality the other arrangers of advanced piano solos in the Popular Performer series have captured. That being said, they are still a great improvement...

over the standard rendition of these songs, and I hope Hal Leonard will continue to generate advanced piano solo arrangements.
