  • August 27, 2012 songs just too dated

I have found that most students aren't even familiar with most of the Faber and Faber "fun" songs. They are just out of touch with what current students want to play. Most kids today don't know the Flintstones or Mary Poppins, unfortunately!

  • May 17, 2011 A Great "Fun Book" for Beginners!

Several of my piano students chose pieces out of this book for our last recital. I use The Music Tree as a lesson series and find that these pieces come very easily to my students currently playing from The Music Tree 2A book. My students working out of Book 1...

had to work a little to achieve the songs in this book but overall did not struggle. The songs in this book really do sound like "the real thing" and are great motivational songs for beginner piano students. I would highly recommend this book!

This is a favorite sight-reading and practice book that I use to motivate piano students. The illustration of hand position which preceed each piece an excellent teaching aid! It develops facility of using both hands, reinforces note reading with familiar tunes, all while learning to have fun in the...

process of learning to play the piano! The student-teacher duets are priceless! I will often pull this book out as an emergency measure if a child is having a bad day, or may not be focused. I highly recommend this book for summer enjoyment/maintenance for the beginning piano students.

  • October 15, 2007 Great Book for Beginners

I got this book to add to my teaching library. Showed it to two of my students (twins) to pick out a song they wanted to learn. Well, they wanted to learn all of the songs! So they bought their own book! The Fabers really do nice arrangements for beginners...
