  • November 20, 2011 Excellent Edition

This is the nicest edition that I've found, and I've looked at quite a few. The best part is the music is uncluttered and easy to read. If you're looking for an edition with lots of fingerings and phrasing by an editor, you'll be disappointed, since...

this edition has neither. However, if you're looking for an accurate good quality urtext, this is it.

  • June 06, 2011 Superior Edition

Of the three editions I own of the Mozart Sonatas (Peters, Broder, and Barenreiter), this one is clearly the best. The scholarship behind the text is impeccable, and the print is clear and clean. The result is worth the extra one must pay for this version. It is important to...

note that most of the Barenreiter editions do not have fingering, unless the composer himself included the fingering. There is no fingering in this edition.

  • September 07, 2008 Beats Henle

For Mozart Sonatas, this Baerenreiter edition is the authority. Henle may be the way to go for Bach and Beethoven, but not here. I don't know any serious performers or professors who don't use this very edition!

Authoritative and authentic edition; also a pleasure to look at: good paper, printed large and clear, easy to read.

  • May 09, 2007 if you want Urtext, get Henle edition

Nothing beats Henle for Urtext. For $10 more you can have the best. (I'm an experienced piano teacher & state this from experience with many editions and "Urtext editions" of Mozart.) I think you'll be better pleased with the page size, paper weight and color, hand-done engraving, sewn...

binding, etc. of the Henle edition.
