  • November 16, 2012 What a great piece

Even though it says 'youth' the piece is definitely advanced. I performed this for my college's concerto competition and got first place. I cannot wait to play this with their orchestra! This is such a fun, exciting piece. The cadenza is very fun as well. I recommend this piece...

(especially the first movement) to anyone who loves Russian music.

This is a very good piece! But, I think that some of the fingerings in this edition are completely ridiculous!

  • June 16, 2009 I love this!

Last year, I learned the 3rd movement, and this year, I'm playing the 1st. I love this so much! The 3rd movement was a bit hard, not learning but memorizing on my part, but my memory has never been the best! ^__^ The melody is so beautiful!!

  • July 31, 2007 Great print

This concerto isn't too hard at all!! A great student concerto to work on scales too! It has a very playful melody that truly depicts youth which in the middle part of the first movement has a somewhat dark atmosphere. I highly recommend this for anybody who is starting...

on their first concerto. It is brilliantly written with the best quality and easy to see notation on every page.

  • February 15, 2007 Fun!!

One of his easier concertos possibly his second easiest, but also quite fast with many diatonic scales which displays difficult. However it is so beautiful and the themes will get stuck in your head:)
