  • March 11, 2006 A Compelling Homage of Paris!

The texture and colors of the ever beautiful Paris are brilliantly captured through the music of Martin Ellerby. Each movement serves as a wonderful pallet of colors for each of the four destinations titled in each movement. Saint-Germain is wonderfully beautiful as the city wakes, Pigalle is great Danny...

Elfman-ish fun, Pere Lachise is relaxing and simultaneously haunting, and Les Halles is a grand spectacle of sound concluding with a gorgeous brass chorale, percussion feature and nostalgic recapitulation of the original motif presented in movement 1. This piece will instill cherished memories in any members of the group performing for their last time with that particular group, as it did myself. I become utterly engrosed in this piece everytime I hear it. I highly reccomend this title for the closing act of any concert!
