Written and tested by a gigging string quartet, good players can sight read this arrangement or nearly so. Each instrument plays some melody. And the melody line always has harmony backup, along with a steady pizzicato rhythm. Toward the end of the middle section, the first and second violins play a countermelody that imparts a tango or calypso lilt to the overall dreaminess of this version.  If interested, the entire mp3 can be heard at soundcloud under Protea-2, or under my name.
