By Judy Garland. By Harold Arlen. Arranged by Jud Goodrich. Film/TV. Score and parts. 8 pages. Judson Goodrich #1920995. Published by Judson Goodrich (A0.890062).

This song is one of the greatest movie songs ever written. In 1939 Judy Garland's career was launched as she sang this Academy Award winning song in the movie "The Wizard Of Oz." It became her signature song and she performed it for the next 30 years. Harold Arlen, the composer of the music was quoted as saying that the octave jump in the first measure represented Dorothy's flight from Kansas up to the Land Of Oz. The melody of the bridge was the tune he whistled to call his dog. This version is arranged for brass quintet, a versatile ensemble for both amateur and professional musicians.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
