Omnia Sol (Let Your Heart be Staid)

By Z. Randall Stroope

Customer Rating:   6 Reviews Write a Review

Omnia Sol (Let Your Heart be Staid) composed by Z. Randall Stroope. For SSA choir, piano accompaniment (with optional brass quintet, percussion). Concert. Octavo. Published by Heritage Music Press (LO.15-2135H).

This farewell song is a reflection on the constant passage of events and people who have been pillars along life's way. Omnia Sol (or "everywhere light" [sun]) depicts this interaction and daily investing of ourselves in every soul we encounter. Though we mature and 'move on,' part of us is 'staid' in the hearts and minds of those we chance to meet.

Marvelous song, great imagery. Latin chorus is easy to sing and most evocative. Great harmonies, very stirring, our adult women's choir enjoyed it enormously as did the concert audience.

My sister sang the Alto part for the song. I think she her graduating class sang at graduation for Fountain Lake graduating class of '05, which included my sister.

This song has a good meaning. The Seniors had an idea at my school to sing this too our choir director. And we broke down crying. This song is a must!!
