This is a piano arrangement of the concert version of the ballet. Tchaikovsky used only part of the music for the ballet in the suite. The Overture and the March, which are the most important of the characteristic dances in the Suite, come from the first act of the ballet. The remaining dances originate from the second act.

This is the piano arrangement of the orchestral work that my teacher bought for me back in the 1980s. Tricky and fun, the arrangements are good for an intermediate to advanced pianist: lots of rapid runs, passages in 3rds or 6ths, large rolled chords, etc. The Trepak (Russian Dance) is...

marvelous, and still leaves me breathless at the end.
