    Difficulty Level:
  • August 26, 2014 Another winner for the Noona team!

As my beginners progress through this series, I appreciate the genius of the Noonas in creating engaging pieces and easy-to-understand techniques. Flats, sharps and phrasing are built on from Book 1, and transposition is introduced. Book 2 includes timeless melodies in three major keys--C, F and G...

--with simple left hand patterns that my students enjoy playing and their family and friends enjoy listening to. Original pieces such as "Sky Shades" and "Fiesta del Sol" are also big hits at our recitals.

    Difficulty Level:

Books 1, 2, and 3 of this course comprise level 1 of other courses. Lesson material, theory, technic, and repertoire are all integrated lesson by lesson rather than in separate books. Due to this, each "book" of the series takes about three months to complete, giving the student a sense...

of excitement and progress. Guidepost reading is emphasized in this book, along with key signatures in the keys of F and G. Triads are postponed until book 3 to enable the student to devleop a good hand position and individual technique with single notes and harmonic intervals. Phrasing is heavily emphasized in all of the Noona materials
