Nocturnes - Complete

Nocturnes - Complete by Frederic Chopin (1810-1849). Edited by Willard A. Palmer. For solo piano. Masterworks; Piano Collection. Alfred Masterworks Editions. Romantic Period. SMP Level 10 (Advanced). Collection (spiral bound). Standard notation, fingerings, introductory text and thematic index (does not include words to the songs). 128 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.2482C).

ISBN 0739009028. With standard notation, fingerings, introductory text and thematic index (does not include words to the songs). Romantic Period. 9x12 inches.

The nocturnes (night pieces) are among the most introspective and personal of Chopin's works, as he was influenced by John Field's pieces of the same title. This complete collection of the nocturnes includes a useful thematic index and footnotes citing the differences between the manuscripts and the first editions. The pedaling, tempos and other musical markings are Chopin's.

This title has selections that range in difficulty from SMP Level 8-10.

About SMP Level 10 (Advanced)

  • December 12, 2011 Chopin Nocturnes - Alfred ed.

I've long been an advocate of the Palmer editions, both as a teacher and a performer. Notations about fingering, pedaling, explication of ornaments, are such a quick study! Now, the spiral bound edition adds to the ease of study. If publishers were at all savvy, they would spiral bound...

    ALL these wonderful classics!

I purchased this book for Nocturne in E flat major. I have been quite pleased with this composition, especially for my capabilities. I have not attempted to play the other titles yet in this book, but based upon the one song I have been tackling, I would recommend this product...

. I am 58 years old and have been trying to rehone skills from many years ago.

  • September 21, 2008 Amazing Edition

I am in high school and have been playing piano for many(about 8) years. Most of these Nocturnes are quite difficult. I really enjoy the posth. C-sharp minor Nocturne. The editing is, as is to be expected with Alfred Masterwork Editions, great. A must buy if you enjoy...

    beautiful music!
