  • May 11, 2004 Original, exciting and useful!

This collection represents some of Pethel's best writing for organ. The Toccata on Come Thou Fount should become a very popular arrangement. Nothing generic about these arrangments! Highly recommended.

  • March 30, 2004 Great addition to sacred lit collection!

Pethel's arrangements of hymn tunes exhibit originality and very appealing writing for organ, both for the performer and the listener. This collection contains good contrasts in style, tempi, texture, mood--from celebratory (Toccata on Come Thou Fount) to somber (Ah, Holy Jesus--my favorite). This is music you will...

come back to again and again.
