  • 2014-08-25 20:45:36.0 Best edition I've found of this single piece

This is a lovely performance edition. The cover is heavy coated paper, and the piece fits on two facing pages. The typeface is pretty clear (not exceptional quality) but better than that in "Elgar Gold" collection (which does not stay open). The piece of music is only two beautiful pages...

long. There are no fingerings in this edition (or any I found), but it clear, nicely spread out and easy to read. There a few notes that are not "spaced" properly in the measure (if you count them out, they are correct, but they just weren't put quite where they could have been for faster reading - poor form, but not wrong). A beautiful piece of (originally orchestral) music that benefits from having a large reach or at least comfort with widely spread out chords.

The product is high quality, with a laminated cover that should last for many years. The music itself was just what I wanted. My only criticism is that it was very pricey for a two-page piece of music.

  • 2007-11-29 00:00:00.0 this version used in the PBS/Burns WWII documentar

I bought this because I heard it as background music in the recent PBS/Burns World War 2 documentary. I forget the episode it occurred in though. it was playing under a story by Daniel K. Inouye, Senator from Hawaii.

  • 2007-11-19 00:00:00.0 Nimrod Thirteenth Variation form Enigma Variation

I have always loved Vaughan Williams' Enigma Variations. It's one of my favorite works. The thirteenth variation, called "Nimrod", I like the best. I heard it played in a piano version as bacground music in Ken Burns' "War"--World War II--on PBS. It was played in virtually every...

segment of the miniseries. As a pianist, I had to have it!!! Thanks to Sheetmusicplus.com, I got it! It took a bit of scrounging, but you had it. Best of all, it is arranged by the composer, so it couldn't be better. It is deceptively difficult to play well, which is why I designated it for advanced pianists. It's slow, and doesn't sound particularly difficult, but it has considerable difficulties in fingering and interpretation. But for anyone who loves the original, go for it!
