Composed by Karim Elmahmoudi. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 49 pages. Karelm Music #55951. Published by Karelm Music (A0.844109).

The music for Mythos was based on a score I composed for an animated computer geerated short film created by the Art Institute of California. This film is about the rivalry between two powerful mythical gods from opposing sidees who battle for their realm. In the film version, I used heralding trumpet fanfares to announce the arrival and climactic battle of the ancient gods of Greece mythology. Working on this film continued to inspire me and I kept on writing themes and expanded the music for this film even after I had delivered the final score. The Mythos Oveture is based on some of these themes, expanded and developed with new material introduced. The music is in three parts, an intense opening fanfare with its ensuing fiery music, a contrasting lyrical section with elements of mysticism, and a blazing finale. Duration: 10 minutes.
