I loved the fact that the sheet music included the song in two keys. I wasn't expecting that so it was a pleasant surprise. I also like the arrangement better than another one I have because the accompaniment is easier.

  • March 21, 2006 Beautiful arrangement of a moving hymn

This setting of an American folk hymn can be performed by unison choir or a soloist. It combines a very moving text with beautifully shaped vocal phrases and an interesting piano accompaniment. The vocal part is perfectly suited to teaching musical phrase shaping and legato singing. The melody is fairly...

straightforward yet intriguing. I recommend it as a way to stretch the vocal abilities of a beginning choir (soloist) or as a simply beautiful piece for a more advanced group.
