  • January 18, 2013 Good Book - All the Mexican classics

This is a good book. I like it. The classics of Mexico are in it and they are all fun to play. A few of the tunes are a little difficult, but once you change you mindset from learning guitar to fiesta guitar all of the sudden ...music from Mexico...

. And everyone in your audience is entertained and happy. What more do you want?

  • October 14, 2010 Compilations like this are hard to find!

Even in Mexico, compilations of Mexican folk music with notation for the fingerstyle or classical guitar are hard to find; most are single sheet music, badly printed, and without accompanying CDs. This one is a high-quality publication, and even if you don't play guitar, the CD is worth...

The pieces are generally of intermediate to advanced intermediate difficulty, but even if you're not there yet, it's worth getting this just to have the CD to listen to. There are also two more volumes, unfortunately out of print -- but if we all write to Mel Bay, perhaps they'll put them back out.

The arrangements are beautiful. I am intermediate and can play 3 of the tunes reasonably well in 2 weeks. They have taken me to the next level. Just listening to the CD's is inspiring. I cannot thank Ruben Delgado enough for his work. I am trying to find Volume...
