This book is far too difficult, in my opinion, for a total beginner. It would be a good "second time around" book, however. It covers the same ground as Pace's Music for Piano series levels 1 and 2. I think most students would find this course frustrating to keep...

up with. Cynthia Pace has a wonderful alternative entitled "Piano Plain and Simple" which covers this same ground in a more leisurely manner. The student learns to play in all keys with I, IV, and V7 harmonies. Creativity is a highlight of the course.
