At first I was a little disappointed because it wasn't quite what I was expecting. The arrangements are really quite simplified, with some of the fundamentals such as rhythm being significantly changed to a much more basic version. If you're expecting to get something that sounds close to...

the original movie soundtracks, you won't find it here. However it seems to be very thoughtfully arranged for string orchestra, unlike so many other arrangements which don't take into consideration the instruments it is written for. I liked how all the double-stopping was within the grasp of a beginner string player, and how in general certain notes and harmonies that cause intonation issues were avoided. I'd say this book is a very valuable material for a school or beginner string orchestra, nice pieces that students will enjoy learning, and very playable but good sounding arrangements.
