I liked the beginning and end of the sheet music. The mid-part was not so great FOR PIANO. But you have to remember, the mid-part was written by Cat for vocals and guitar, not piano.

Nice arrangement of an old favorite. Middle part is weaker than the beginning or ending.

  • 2011-07-16 00:00:00.0 Morning Has Broken is a good transcription

The attribution of the text and arrangement are correct but the tune is an old Gaelic melody first sung by wandering Scottish minstrels. A Christmas text (Child in a Manger) was also previously used with this tune. The piano part stays close to the Cat Stevens version but could have...

included a few of the piano "riffs" from that version.

I think this version is a very accurate match to Cat Steven's original recording. It has not been altered to some strange "piano" key like Bb or Eb, like some songbooks. I have been playing guitar for 40 some years and recently re-discovered Cat Stevens; such great songs...

. I was never quite sure of the chord changes in this song and this music was right on target.

  • 2008-04-03 00:00:00.0 Good - IF you can combine it...

This is worth buying for the beginning and ending, but the piano accompaniment where the vocals come in is just not that good. The introduction is pretty, then you get the boom-ching ching chords you would expect in a beginning piano book. We combined this with an edition from...

the Celebration Hymnal and it came out quite nice.
