Jaco Pastorius defined a new style of not only bass playing in incorporating the use of rhythm, harmony, and melody on one instrument; but also defined a new style of jazz. Jaco is probably the best bassist to have ever live, and this book/cd set does a good job...

in teaching musicians how to learn to play bass in a more innovative way. Every bassist who wants to take their playing to the next level should consider the stylings of Jaco, and try to learn from this music. I also highly recommend the dvd of the same name.
