If you want to master the trumpet completely, here's how I would do it: 1. Work through some early stuff such as the Rubank methods. 2. Move on to the Bible, the Arban's method. (Eric Bolvin's excellent outline of how to get through the Arban method in...

69 weeks is appropriate here.) In addition to Arban's, work on the Clarke's Technical Studies. 3. As supplements to things missing in Arban and Clarke, add the three volumes of the Allen Vizzutti Trumpet Mehtod. 4. Work through all six books of the Anthony Plog Program. 5. Get this book! Is it tough? For sure! But it's great. For example, I've never seen better exercises for developing the pedal register--and keeping a consistent embouchure through all registers. An excellent must-have, but really advanced method!
