I found the context of breaking down huge musical pieces to a smaller more useable theme to be a very good idea. I also was very happy to see biblical verses listed so I can read them and decide what inflections to add to my playing. In fact, I bought...

the piano version as well and my choir director is very excited about both! I agree, the trumpet part isn't truly a duplicate score of Handel's masterpiece. I believe this is a much more approachable to the man of the street or the butt in the pew. When I want to hear Messiah as written I can go to concerts or buy wonderful recordings. I can also play the original scores. Sticking to the original score is not what this book is about. This is, I believe a new approach to spreading the good news.

Sorry to say I was disappointed - I thought I would get the real trumpet parts. These should be good for the less experienced player, thoughEugene.
