Mes exercices pour piano - Livre 2 composed by Alain Abbott (1926-). For piano. This edition: Volume 2; spiral-bound. Modern. (3 to 4/8) moderately easy to moderate. Score. 32 pages. Published by Editions Delatour France (D2.DLT1614).

ISBN 979-2321-00504-8. Modern. 21 x 29.7 cm inches.

The title is explicit: 'My exercises' rather than 'exercises'. Indeed, I have not tried to make a piano method, there are so many of them, and authors much more qualified than me (I should mention from the same publisher quite a remarkable book that I very often consult: TREATY OF PIANO TECHNIQUE AND PEDAGOGY by Louis-Noel Belaubre). I just wanted to compose the exercises that I could not find anywhere and that were useful to me before practising a particular work. Some may seem confusing and of unusual harmonic style. Furthermore there is no master plan or progression. This working method is not the worst. I do not see the point of working two hours on the octaves or thirds in a harmonic language worthy of Theodore DUBOIS with the physiological danger it represents. Instead, varying the technical problems enabled me to progress while avoiding muscle fatigue and weariness.
