I enjoy this piece of music very much and even though it may be a little over my head technically, I enjoy a good challenge. I may have wished there was a little more help with fingering suggestions but I can generally work that out myself. The effort to play...

this piece well will reap its reward if one sticks at it.

  • August 26, 2006 Unbelievably great piece!!!

If I had to pick a favorite piece of classical music, then I would most likely choose Liszt's "Mephisto Waltz no. 1". It's superb and surreal in every way and is filled with unforgettable melodies and themes. It's also a very strange song in that it manages...

to be happy, heartbreaking, and frightening, sometimes all at once. It's also one of the most difficult pieces I've ever played, but it's definitely worth the effort it takes to learn it - I started a year ago and I'm still trying to master it! This is a great arrangement.
