The basses of the accordian are puzzling and difficult to master. They must be played completely by touch as it is impossible to see the bass buttons while the accordian is being played. The purpose of this method is to make the learning of the basses easy and enjoyable. We have made this possible by using popular, well known melodies and exercises.

This is a terrific book. It really gets your left hand working well - I have played piano for nearly as long as I can remember and took up the accordion a few years ago. Unlike many exercises this book is mostly all tunes and really quite enjoyable to play.

I am a semi-professional musician and beginning accordionist. If you are looking for a book to develop that left hand playing with fluency this is the one that will help you do it. This book contains many bass line only classic tune selections from the "Palmer-Hughes Accordion Courses...

." Mixed in with the tunes, this book presents with additional exercises that progress through the left hand study beginning with the basic major chords followed by counter and alternating basses, broken chords, chromatic scales and more. It is a book that could become one of your companion exercise books from beginning to the end of your studies and beyond.
